‘Kingini Koottam’ Concludes at Visitation Generalate

KOTTAYAM (December 20, 2025): The Visitation Generalate was filled with the sounds of laughter, carols, and prayer today as ‘Kingini Koottam’, a unique Advent program for children, reached its solemn conclusion. Throughout the Advent season, the Generalate has been a second home for children from the neighborhood. Every evening, these young hearts gathered at the convent to prepare their souls for the birth of Jesus through a beautiful blend of faith, fellowship, and fun. Preparing the Way for the Little King ‘Kingini Koottam’ was designed as a spiritual preparation for Christmas, specifically tailored for children. Breaking away from the commercial noise of the season, the program focused on the true meaning of the Nativity. The daily evening sessions included: • Learning about Jesus: Sisters and mentors shared stories of the Holy Family, teaching the children about the virtues of love, humility, and sharing. • Praying Together: The children participated in age-appropriate prayer sessions, learning to talk to Jesus like a friend. • Playing Together: Recognizing that joy is a gift from God, the program included games and creative activities that fostered a sense of community among the local youth. A Solemn and Festive Grand Finale The concluding ceremony held today was the highlight of the season. The children, who have grown closer over the past weeks, presented a heart-warming program reflecting what they learned. The event featured: • Action songs and traditional Christmas carols. • A special prayer service for families and the neighborhood. • Distribution of Christmas gifts and sweets. A Community United in Faith "It has been a blessing to see the local children come together at our convent every evening," said one of the organizing Sisters. "‘Kingini Koottam’ wasn’t just about waiting for a holiday; it was about building a spiritual foundation in these children and showing them that Jesus is the greatest gift of all." As the program concluded, the children left with glowing faces and a deeper understanding of the Christmas story, carrying the light of Christ from the Visitation Generalate back to their own homes.
